So I get asked this Atlanta being that I am an Atlanta Native what are some places that you can visit for Free. I love telling people about my city. I am a true blue native 7 generations deep I am over 8 generations of Georgia. So here are some great places that you can check out for Free.
1.Martin Luther King historical – See the nice birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights leader and learn some history about him… did you know his name was changed after he was born? Find out more stuff like this there.
2. Free Movies in Central Park in Atlantic Station– This is an amazing treat that starts in May of every year. Treat your family to a free movie in the park on Thursday nights. Something me and my daughter love to go see. You get two hours of free parking but if you are staying in midtown you can get a shuttle there easily.
3. Atlanta Street Car– We now have street cars that connect you to a ton of free historial places you can visit and the best part. Its free for the rest of 2015.
4. Centennial Olympic Park – The park built for the 1996 Olympics here in Atlanta. If you are looking to cool off the Olympic rings are a great way to do it and fun. They also have low cost concerts during the summer on Weds. and during the winter ice skating.
5. Ebenezer Baptist Church- while the tour of the historic church will cost you a little. You are more than welcome and invited to come to my family's home church (my grandmother has been a member since she was 13.) This is the church that MLK was pastor of we have moved across the street and our historic church is now a place to tour. Part of the historic church is still used by us though for offices and childrens chapel.
*Atlanta Street Car can connect you from MLK to Ebenezer to Centennial Olympic Park for free. Centennial Olympic Park connects you to the CNN Center ( they have tours), National Civil Right Museum, Georgia Aquarium, College Football Hall of Fame and World of Coke.

Your post makes me miss Atlanta so much. I’ve experienced every place on your list and only wished the streetcars were available when I lived there. So much rich history there to learn and for free, I just love it. #BLMGirl
Who knew there was such free fun to be had in the ATL? I haven’t really had a true vacation there but this will definitey come in handy when I do… (BLMGirls)
