Since I spilled my guts on My Struggle As a Single Mom I want to share with you my journey of getting back on my feet to show that everyone can do this. They just have to do these five things to help with there budget.
- Speak will all companies to make arrangements. I am a single mom and my budget is already tight so I have been making calls to get my bills lower by making smaller payments based on when I get my paychecks.
- Negotiate my bills this requires me to be on the phone even longer with people I owe money to. To say I detest this is a UNDERSTATEMENT. I will say this though.
[Tweet “Negotiating your bills with customer service you get better results being polite then you do being an ASS #fact”]
Bonus Tip: Xfinity tell them you want to cancel your service and try to get whatever the deals are going on in your area right now. It will almost always be lower.
- Look at your bills and see what you can cut. Automatically I know one thing I may have to cut is my unlimited data on my cell phone. I really want to avoid it because this is my part-time job and I need the data to work while I am on the bus or ignore the crazy man trying to get my attention. Any extras I use to make this job easier will probably have to go…. bye bye MS Office Monthly, bye tailwind for now. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.
- Make sure that all your bills are paid. Put any extra money that comes in savings. ALWAYS.
- Look for ways to make extra income from home. More post coming on that.
Hopefully this will help others that are going through a tough time make some sound decisions.
