Supermarkets are where you get your food items but did you know that there's supermarket tricks to make you spend more. Find some of the top tricks used to make you spend more.
Being that I have been a cashier at a number of retail stores I have learned over the years the tricks that are used in the grocery store and I want to help those of you that don't know so you don't fall for them.
1. Sensory Overload
Have you every notice one of two thing hit you when you first walk in. Flowers or food. This is because it awakes your sense making you want to buy more.
2. End-caps are not your friends
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
A lot of times you see end-caps and automatically think the item is on sale. Not always, sometimes these items are put on the end-caps to make you think they are on sale.
3. People only remember the price for 4 items.
Because of this the stores change the prices of items all the time which is why you should keep a price tracker.
4. Sales are not really sales sometimes
Having a price tracker is key so you know the lowest price of items. A lot of times items that are on sale will raise the price and stick a 10 for 10, 2 for 5, or BOGO (buy one, get one free) to hide the fact the price for each item has raised.
5. Impulse Buying
Have you ever notice those bins of items or the display that is right before you go to check out? Those are to entice you with impulse buying. Making you spend more.
