My family is getting ready next month to go on a trip and that has me thinking about all the ways to make this trip not only fun but affordable. So as I am learning there are a few things that you can do to save money. Take a look at 5 tips to not only help you save money but a great place for a vacation and a chance to win a free vacation.
- Weekdays are better so timing is everything
Most hotels and even airlines give you a cheaper rate for flying or staying during a weekday. The most lowest price to stay ad fly is usually on Tuesday and Wednesdays. So while it may be inconvenient to leave at that time it will save you money. In fact, Wilderness at the Smokies has an amazing weekday deal for rooms at $99 a night Click here to check out this weekday special.
2. Dig around for deals
There are a ton of sites that will help you find the cheap travel and stay deals. Some sites can even notify you when your deals are the lowest.

3. Purchase in advance
This goes for airfare and hotels advance tickets. Alot of airlines and hotels give you a bigger discount the further out you book your trip.
4. Keep the kids busy
I personally have done this the entire time for my daughter. Before the trip especially road trips I would make goodie bags, filled with snacks, drink, magazines ( if they are old enough), coloring book, activity books and a book to read. . So they can do something besides tablets and video games.
5. Eat at the Hotel
This is great if your going to places like Wilderness in the Smokies because they actually have suites with full kitchens this can help you save a ton of money. Make the last night special and eat out that night. Saving you, hundreds of dollars.
Bonus
If going on vacation seems like dream you can't afford why not try to win a free vacation at Wilderness at the Smokies for there Anniversary.
