I don't know about you but I love going to the movies. I mean watching the movies at a theater is always a awesome experience and while I have Netflix there is nothing like going to a movie with your family. Of course being the Pretty Frugal Diva. I have some great ways to save money at the movies.
1. Go in the Afternoon
Going to the matinee can easily save you up to 50 % at some movie theaters. I know that if I go during the afternoon I can pay under $6.00 but if I go at night on the weekend I can pay almost $10.00. This is a huge savings for anyone wanting to take a family out.
2. Check the movie websites
You can find some great deals not only on movie tickets but this is also a great place to get deals on the concession stand. Just looking at my closest theater which is Cine mark. They have a deal where you sign up and get coupons for some free concession items. Also links to an app that does the same thing.

3. Discount Movie Tickets
Not only can you check out local movie theater websites for discounts but you can check out sites like Groupon and Living Social to get discount on local theaters. You can also check out sites like Fandango which has amazing gift cards to help you save on movie tickets. As well.
4. Concession Stand 101
No me personally I like to eat grapes during the movies so I bring them with me. But on the rare occasions I do like to eat some junk food. I buy my box candy at the store, before I go to the movies. But for some reason I have to buy popcorn and soda at the movie its just something about getting it there. So what we do is first look for coupons on the movie theater site if they don't have anything I like to buy the large popcorn bring small paper bags and separate the popcorn hence we all get our own bag and then alot of times the movie theater gives free refills on large popcorn. Another option is to just eat before you go into the movie. We do that also.
5.Alternative Movie Theaters
You can always go to what I call the second run movie theaters these are usually independent theaters and alot cheaper and even though the movie is older its usually not by much and I only pay $1.50 a ticket. Talking about a ton of savings. Also we have a drive in here in the Atlanta area. You can go for about the price of two tickets and watch two movies saving a ton of money plus bringing your own food saving even more.
Bonus:
Ibotta (sign up online and then download) is now letting you earn back money back on movie tickets a great way to save anymore money.

great tips!
