I had a incident with my daughter a few years ago and I just wanted to share some wisdom with my readers. Some may not agree with me but it works with my family.
I have always considered myself a old school mom. I don't play when it comes to my daughter. I am always trying to make my lil diva (who is 13) more responsible. I feel that since she is a only child, mom and dad will not be around forever I need to instill life lessons One day I was talking with my daughter about her not doing her homework and she looked at me and said ” I don't want to do it.” I looked at her ready to give her the same speech my mom gave all five of us growing up.

“Everybody works at 170.”” My job is to provide you with clothes, food and roof over your head.” Your job is to go to school, make them grades and do what I say.” This was to let her know that you have to work its a part of life whether your getting paid or not. Life is not free and I truly believe she now understand. Because when I ask her about homework now she usually automatically says that she is working on this, this and this.
Definitely a life lesson every parent can share with their kids.
What life lessons have you shared with your kids?

I’m old school too.
My parents reminded us that democracy ends at the front door.
We didn’t get a vote on anything.
voting a choice?? Naw none of that happens at 170 LOL. Believe that 🙂 Dictatorship all day
This is an awesome lesson to teach. I just used my life as a lesson to my kids to get them to work harder in school. I just barely graduated high school because of my choices.
Well, I use my life as well. But she had heard I don’t want you to be like me I want you to finish college so many times I needed to channel my mother and she use to say that all the time.
