About two years ago I went to a meeting with some marketing people for Kroger. I was excited that I had finally been seen as a major influencer when it came to couponing in Atlanta. So I sat there with other Metro bloggers and the announced there changes coming to the Atlanta market. One was the end of double coupons. Now at this meeting I was the only frugal blogger. It was like I was stabbed. What???? how was I going to save money with this gone.
After rethinking what I knew about couponing at Kroger I came up with some new ways to save money. Now I don't feel bad about shopping there with the new gas station me getting gas cheaper than most places in the area and making money off a few items does help.
Kroger Plus Card– This is the home for the deals and digital coupons are held. This is one of the must haves when shopping at Kroger. If you forget your card no worries you can enter your phone number and that works as well.
Kroger App – This app has been a life saver when not only running in the store but with I-phone it stores your Kroger plus card on your phone and if your in the store and need a coupon its literally clicking on the app finding the digital coupon and adding it to your card. Its a fast and seamless process.
Kroger Friday Freebie– How can you go wrong with a free item that is all because you downloaded it on a certain day of the week. I have been able to try some great new products because of this. If I don't like product I donate it to a local food bank.
Kroger Double Fuel Points– Ever dollar you spend equals 1 point when you get to 100 points you can get $0.10 off your gas at a Kroger gas station or Shell gas station. This is a great way to save money. When you shop on the weekend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday you can earn double points if you download the coupon from your computer or your Kroger App.
Gift Cards– I personally buy a gift card worth 25.00 and use that for a shopping trip to one of my favorite stores because when you buy gift cards the points are automatically get 4X the points. Meaning I have 100 points and can get ten cents off gas. Its awesome.
Rebate Apps– There are so many apps that you can use to earn cash back on your purchases. I have a list of apps that can not only help you save money but some of them allow you to earn cash back, gift cards and more. The great thing about the rebates is that you can use these and coupons and still get the cash back.
