No Tax Free Weekend
NO TAX FREE WEEKEND !! We received the news that there will be no tax free weekend for the state of Georgia and for a lot of people including me there was disappointment. 7 to 8% may not seem like a lot to some but, for limited income it's the difference between getting all the supplies needed or not.
To get started here are the states that are NOT having a tax free weekend:
Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York. North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Check out our post on states with no sales tax.
For those of us in Georgia that live near boarders that may mean we can take advantage of Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina. But for others there has to be a way to save right. Of course and here are my back to school summer tips.
Coupons are your friends
I know you have heard me say it a million times and will probably hear me say it more. Coupons save you money. Starting now the Sunday papers will have some school supply coupons for pens, pencils even notebooks. So start looking in the sunday paper also look for store coupons and in sales ads on may contain store coupons.

Apps are cool too
Apps are known for catering to certain times of year and this year is no different. Apps like Ibotta, Checkout 51 and Mobisave. These apps will have savings for certain items that you need for school such as glue, pens, pencils and more. But other apps like Shopkick will help you save no matter where you shop. Shopkick gives you points for just walking into a store, if you find a certain item and scan it you get points and if you buy and share you receipt you also get points.
